Rehomed Rescue Doberman Dogs

Rehomed Dogs

Rebel

Rebel

Rebel came in for re-homing during the Summer of 2011 after his owner passed away leaving this old boy depressed and lost without his human companion.

However events took a brighter turn when Allan Mac one of FOND’s volunteers remembered meeting Sue and Steve on a previous occasion and their love of dogs. Allan took Rebel down to meet them and their Labrador Zak last June when they kindly offered to foster the bereft Rebel despite his age, arthritis and muscle wastage. Rebel had received little exercise in the previous two years because of his owner’s illness.

Sadly the two dogs were only to be together for a few months as Sue and Steve’s beautiful Zak passed away at the end of October. He attained the grand old age of 15 years and 8 months. Although Rebel and Zak had only been friends for a short time they thoroughly enjoyed one anothers company but Zak was in charge! Rebel was quite upset in the couple of weeks after Zak died. Sue and Steve said having Rebel really helped them to come to terms with life without Zak. They describe Rebel as the most gorgeous gentle giant they’ve ever met and wouldn’t be without him. At Christmas time he helped himself to his presents under the tree, pulling off the wrappers and eating the contents. Incentives to play with toys have resulted in Rebel not being quite sure what to do and the time he decided to play he became so excited he decided never to do it again!

Rebel has now been officially adopted. A big thank Sue and Steve for turning this old boy’s life around as he was so nearly put to sleep. This is another wonderful example of taking on an older Dobermann and giving something back to the breed. We know that Rebel deserved his chance and are happy that he can now live out his life with the care, companionship and comfort that should be the right of all elderly dogs.

The final word from Rebel’s new family is after finishing the tablets that the vets gave him for his arthritis he is now on cod liver oil and glucosamine tablets. He looks great, shiny coat, wet nose and so much stronger on his back legs. (Shows what good feeding and exercise can do). Goes for lovely long walks and then goes home and has a good kip! We cannot believe he was so close to being put to sleep. How can anyone do that to a healthy dog? Thank goodness you got involved and we all came out winners didn’t we?

Pippin

Pippen now has a new home

We have so many requests for an update on dear Pippin after her special appeal for funds on the FOND website following her numerous visits and operations at our veterinary surgery that has made us think that she has touched the heart strings of many of you out there that follow our site.

The story so far; Madam Pippin aged 8 years came to the attention of FOND when over the course of a phone call with a household full people and another aged dog had no time or inclination to see to Pippin's urgent need to seek veterinary attention, claiming their lack of money would not stretch even for a taxi to the local PDSA. Without a second thought, Pippin was given over to FOND with nothing to her name and after an immediate vet's visit, it transpired that the poor wee lass was suffering from Endometrial Hyperplasia and a growth above the mammary glands.

Pippen happily now has a new home

Thankfully after the proper care and attention needed and operations plus nearly 2 months of convalescence at FOND HQ as well as regaining her health a blossoming relationship started with FOND’s very own old stager Mr. Bailes (Nelson), after which Pippin was well on the road to recovery and ready for re-homing.

A wonderful home was found for this special girl, who, after so much treatment, Pam thought it only right and proper to transport the lass herself all the way down south to Lincolnshire. It was a real wrench to let Pippin go as we had all become so attached to her sweet forgiving nature, but ties have to be broken and off Pippin set on her new life with Jenny.

It took her all of two days to train Jenny up to her high Dobie standards, but now she has her well trained to do her every command, such as 'cover me with a blanket, You are a bit late with my food don’t you think? Plus it’s time for my walk!' Still a bit of a puller we hear when out and about on the lead, but we’re sure given time Jenny will come to heel correctly when asked!

Jenny is full of thanks to Pam and FOND for thinking her the perfect Mum for such a special girl as Pippen who has slotted into Jenny’s life wonderfully and adores the grandchildren. Christmas, we think, will be a lovely family occasion this year for this kind Dobie after so many traumas in a life now hopefully forgotten.

Rufus and Guinness the Dobermann Rescue Dog

Tribute to Guinness (Pictured With Rufus On A Day Out)

Alas the light went out prematurely for one of our stars on Monday 9 January. Dear Guinness who would have been eight this year died prematurely from a bleed to the brain. In the short time we knew him he gave so much pleasure to so many people and with his winsome ways made so many people smile. A big thank you to the Reid family from Kent, who turned this lovely Dobermann's life around. We wish you could all have had longer together.

Good-Bye Aberdeenshire

Cody

Cody has a new home

Cody, long of leg and procurer of all things edible, let his presence be known within a week of starting his new life with Carol and John with the disappearance of a large 8 pint saucepan of chicken stock and a bowl of Tuna mayonnaise, however, after a few admonishing words from Molly, the politer resident Dobie girl, he has learnt that waiting patiently with his nose just below the kitchen table, tidbits will eventually make their way into his direction as a reward for good behavior, though I suspect that Cody would rather be the chief food taster, thus putting his seal of approval on all dishes and menu choices that are produced for the family.

Gradual introduction to the household chickens was recommended for this young lad of only 12 months, therefore their first nose to beak meeting was done under strict supervision and through the fence of the chicken run, soon bored with this Cody went off to play with Molly who seemed far more entertaining. However, on the one occasion that it was forgotten that the chickens were out and about in the farmyard and Cody rattled the backdoor keys to be let out for the call of nature, what followed can only be described as chicken frenzy or Dobie delight, whichever is your point of view….chickens were running in all directions, feathers flying, squawking loudly and dashing for safety towards the house.! At no time were any of the chickens touched but the noise alone was enough to scare the whole neighbourhood into thinking that chicken Armageddon was being inflicted. Again it was back to Dog school for intensive chicken training etiquette, and now Cody just follows Molly’s lead of mingling around the free range brood “cleaning up” after them. (Strange how the smelliest things seem to be the tastiest morsels for dogs to savour).

Cody has a new home with Carol and John

Yet another Dobe with Olympic dreams on the mind, Cody is getting into training in order to join the Great Britain Cycling Team with the assistance of a weird piece of equipment called “a Springer”,; an “S” shaped tube that attaches to the frame of a bicycle with the Dobie athlete clipped on to a large spring on the other end. The only problem being is that Cody just pulls and pulls meaning that Mum and Dad get no other exercise apart from the muscles in their hands trying to keep the brakes on all the time otherwise they would all end up in the next County.

Hopefully Cody will slow down a bit over the Christmas period so that he and Molly can savour all that life has to offer during the long chilly evenings whilst snuggled up in front of a roaring fire beside the Christmas tree, no doubt dreaming of all the glorious runs that they will have together. Here's to a fantastic Christmas and New Year Cody, what a wonderful life you have to look forward to now.

Milo

Milo has a new home

Milo, or Mr. September as he likes to be called now ever since his inclusion into the pages of FOND’s first ever calendar, (he’s the one striding across the bridge) is a Dobe who loves love, walks and food all in equal measure and fortunately for him, because of the daily exercise regime that he is involved in, a weight loss programme recommended to reduce the paunch did not have to include standing by a strict dietary intake. He apparently runs like there’s no tomorrow, tearing through the woods and joining in the morning jogging routine of Dad Ashley.

As you would expect from a photogenic male model, Milo likes to take care of his personnel appearance and never lets the parents forget to give him his special chew after eating his breakfast to keep his pearly white teeth “Whiter than White” A lad has to impress the ladies these days with a sparkling set of molars, doesn’t one. Just as well because he has his very own Advent Calendar with doggie treats that gets opened everyday now until the 25th December and already anticipating the huge giant sized pile of presses’ bound to be flying in his direction from a certain Father Christmas, Milo has hung up his stocking ready for that special night.

The New Year Resolution for 2012, we hear, due to it being Olympic year, will be learning to swim, so far Milo has ventured into the local lake only as far as his armpits, but once the weather improves and heats up again, he’ll be able to tempt Mum and Dad in to show him the basic strokes , then we’re sure it won’t take him long to master the fundamentals and he will even be able to give those Aussie boys a swim for their money and will be in line for a Gold medal or two.

Keep us all up to date with progress and all that is happening in the whirlwind world of Mr. September Milo, and enjoy everything that life has to offer you now that you are in your forever home. Merry Christmas to one and all.

Jessie

“Jessie the wonder-dobe” as she like to be referred to ,but if Kathryn had her way “Jesse the Doberbeast” has followed in the prestigious footsteps of a certain Blue Dobie girl named KODI and has become FOND’s first published Dobermann with the production of her very own newsletter, volume one printed in October. Taking on the mantel of head of the family since the sad loss of their old girl Ailsa, Jesse has been putting her paw mark down and joining in with all the activities and adventures, meeting new people, exploring the likes of York, Wakefield and the Peak District.

Unfortunately for Jessie the bane of her life at the moment are the resident moggies, she thinks that she has been plopped down in Cat World as every time she looks up there’s yet another blooming moggie in her face, her manners are only occasionally forgotten now with the odd chase game now and again.

A birthday treat back in September was spent hiking on “White Edge” in the Peak District, Jessie made sure that she had her own porter in the shape of Aunty Donna who carried all the essential equipment and a special doggy sandwich packed lunch on all their walks.

A new trick she has learned is her incredible impression of Zebedee, jumping up and down on the spot to catch a better look at next door’s cats sitting in the window, however this activity has lead to developing the ability to scale not only the dog gates but also the stable door!

A big softy at heart, Jesse adores her comfort blanket that she arrived with and tries to take it everywhere she goes, but every so often it has to disappear into that whirling washing machine thingy because it starts to stink due to all the sucking it has to suffer. Getting into the festive spirit with the family for all the parties, Jessie once again has donned her latest party headgear, this time in the form of Reindeer horns (Shouldn’t she be called Jessie the Red Nosed Dobiedeer now?) a trial run was made at Halloween this year with her sporting a rather fetching pair of re flashing Devil horns far more suited to the title of Doberbeast!

Life could not be better now for this adventurous Dobe, we wish them all the very best Christmas full of all the joys and celebrations that Jessie deserves now that she has her paws well and truly installed under the kitchen table and double bed duvet. We are all looking forward to Volume 2 of the Jessie Newsletter full of all her Christmas tales.

Tilly

Tilly happily has a new home

FOND's very own octogenarian Dobie Lady who, when she first came to us for re-homing, we never believed that we would be able to find that special dedicated person who would fall in love with this dear old girl, but miracles do happen. Despite all the extra care that an older dog needs one of the kindest people you would ever wish to meet stepped up to the mark and welcomed Tilly into her life with open arms. Now over 8 weeks down the line you would never recognize the same dog; Tilly has literally blossomed, a somewhat out of condition, over weight with deteriorating eyesight geriatric, but with steady regular exercise Tilly has lost that typical 'bobbling wobbling old lady amble' and has rediscovered the lovely extended stride that all Dobies posess, so much so that Jill has to slow her down!

She has become a firm favourite with all who have the honour of meeting her when she is out and about in the local park.

Tilly has a new and wonderful home

A typical day for Tilly will start at around 9am when, after a good night's sleep snoring like a pig, she will emerge from the depths of the duvet and get dressed in her Pooch and Gabbana Diamonte collar, then toddle downstairs for breakfast of her favourite treat of Rice Pudding and milk, personally delivered to her door by the Asda man. Then she has the choice of games with Dobe Mossop and Lurcher Harry or if the chance arises a quick chase of Baby the cat, then maybe a chauffeur driven car ride to the local shops or a trot to the park or even a visit to her precious Nephew Alex who she absolutely adores. Back at home she will supervise the care of the rest of the household menagerie including rabbits and Guinea pigs and not forgetting the Goldfish, and will join in with the various activities of Jill and the rest of her brood from Halloween games, when she sported a scary green witch headgear thingy to overseeing the production of tailor made dog coats for Dobie fashion week or decorating the home for Christmas or even putting her paw of approval onto the latest ideas that Jill has devised to raise much needed funds for FOND.

Tilly is one lucky Lady, she has found her fairy Godmother in the twilight of her days, who could see beyond all the lumps and bumps and see the beautiful girl that was hidden beneath. Jill tells us that if you love this breed, age does not matter they are wonderful dogs at any time of life and will reward you with so much, asking only love and care in return. Tilly has barrel loads of all in this household, may she have one of her best Christmas’s ever, she deserves all the love in the world.

Madison

Madison in her new home

When Madison appeared at fond HQ she didn’t know if she was coming or going having already had a number of homes, so it was imperative that we found a home quickly for this charming girl to give her the stability in her life that she craved for.

Thankfully Ellie and David stepped up, who both fell for Madison's charms, already a dab paw at chasing a ball on a rope or a wubba, she has continued to insist that David play throw and catch constantly down on their local beach front, the only problem being, David now has one arm a few inches longer than the other with the constant throwing action required to keep Madi satisfied. It is a huge relief when some of her dog friends appear so that the arm can have a rest.

Madison now has a new home

In the home Madison has settled down into the general routines like a hand in a glove and is at the stage now where she is reading Ellie's and David's minds in advance. It's funny how they know when you are just thinking of getting up to go to the kitchen to put the kettle on for a cup of tea or coffee and the hopeful prospect of the odd biscuit finding it's merry way into a certain lady's chops! It was wonderful to hear that Madison is now a very happy and settled. We look forward to further up-dates and news of travels abroad when Madison will be staying in warmer climes.

Ollie

Ollie has a new home

Three year old Ollie set off from FOND back in the heady days of August to a caring home near Leeds with Bev and Neil who took this excitable lad in hand, going for the chop has calmed things down somewhat but like most, if not all Dobermann’s, Ollie is on a mission to claim both the couch and the duvet as his own. Bev has her hands full trying to reeducate this notion of an idea but Ollie is nothing if not persistent in his pursuit of ultimate Dobe comfort. We think you might well have a loosing battle with this one Bev. On the bright side, we learn that Ollie is walking beautifully to heel when out and about on the lead and has jammed up on The Green Cross Code as he waits at the road side before crossing over. When off running freely, the recall is coming quicker and quicker every day, especially when there is a tasty treat on offer, bribery always helps we find.

A Dobe lad who, following in the footsteps of Mr. September (Milo) likes to spruce himself up for the ladies, however after a traumatic episode with a violent reaction to a dog shampoo resulting in the poor lad breaking out in lumps from head to tail, Ollie has demanded that only sensitive products should be on offer such as baby shampoo with glycerin and coconut oil. Hopefully he will now be able to show his face again in the local neighbourhood and reassert his place in the canine social pecking order which had to be placed on hold until all the lumps had disappeared.

Overall Ollie seems to be doing great with just a few quirks to iron out, but they will come in time with continued training, loads of patience and consistency in method. Here’s wishing you all very good FOND cheers for your first ever Christmas with your new family and friends down in Leeds. May 2012 bring you continuing joy and great battles for the sofa and duvet.

Rocky/Murphy

It is often said up here at Lonmay that, due to the isolated location of the FOND HQ and our preference of meeting any of our prospective Dobe adopters in person so that they have the opportunity to meet their new Dobie in a homely atmosphere, we know that this extra effort put in by these wonderful people demonstrates their commitment to caring for one of our Dobermann’s waiting for their forever home. Therefore we are indebted to all our volunteers who pick up the desperate cases across the country and assess the Dobes before pairing the dogs with an appropriate adopter.

One particular case that fits this bill is of Rocky, an 8 month old pup whose young owner was unable to keep him due to his domestic circumstances; Rocky was already on his third home and needed some stability in his life

.

Dunja fell for Rocky’s charms and immediately got in her car to pick the lad up when the call came in that a young lad needed a restart in life, setting off back home with Rocky safely installed in the back of the car, disaster struck on the road when the car coughed it’s last exhaust and had to be towed the rest of the way by the AA men, however, not wanting to have a Dobermann in their cab, Rocky had to spend the rest of the journey alone in the car atop the breakdown trailer. It is hard to imagine just what was going through Dunja’s mind with the stress of having to abandon her newly adopted lad to a lonely journey in a strange car on top of a trailer, with the visions of what she may find when they eventually made it back home. Fortunately we learnt that all went well and Rocky was none the worse for his rather unusual travel arrangements, however poor Dunja had to dig deep into her pockets to cover all the expenses incurred, but nothing was going to get in the way if it meant that Rocky would have his permanent home with her.

We have now received an e mail update from the lad himself telling us all about his adventures from the beginning of his adoption by Dunja, fortunately one bonus of the home was the open log fire that is lit everyday in front of which the poor shivery lad has made his permanent bed space. There has also been a change of name from Rocky to Murphy to ring the difference between his old life and the new one about to begin.

Outside Dunja provides the secure, safe stability that Murphy yearned for, as his behaviour on the lead was a struggle for him to keep under control as he did not understand things like parameters and boundaries and was about 6 months behind in his development. He has gained many Aunties, Uncles, 2 Grannies and a Grandpa and lots of nieces and nephews as well as many dog friends. One of his highlights is going to work with his new mum when he can either catch up on his sleep and recharge his batteries or just watch the world go by from out of the window.

A new discovery is Dunja’s new skills in the kitchen department with sumptuous dishes consisting of roast chicken and home made sausages, apparently Murphy provides the services of chief food taster before any of the human element can settle down to a meal, just in case. (Or so he says!)

All in all Murphy loves his new home and his new mum which is just what Dunja’s says she feels about the young boy as well. What a great result for everyone.

Chica

Chica has a new home

Chica had a long-weekend being introduced to Jane her new owner and her bully x dalmatian the gorgeous Jessie. Introductions included games in the wall garden, cuddles in our home, rides out in the car and walks along the sand dunes overlooking Fraserburgh beach.

Chica and Jess

Chica took it all in her stride and is a gentle, affectionate Dobe who likes to play and please. Hopefully with lots of company and reassurance from Jess she will eventually overcome her severe separation anxiety issues. More about Chica later in the Summer.

Bow

Bow has a new home

Bow left her family in Lancashire to start a new life with Jemma and Steve in a Cambridgeshire village. Bow is quite shy therefore it will be a huge change for her being an only dog in totally new surroundings but already she has been for some lovely walks, enjoyed paddling in a local stream and loves playing ball. REad more about Bow on the Dobie Trail.

Enzo

Handsome Enzo

A message from Enzo who has his paws well and truly under the table in his new home.

'Hope you are well couple of pictures of me in the new home and as you can see from the pictures its all pretty great especially when I get to rip up paper! Had a trip to the vets the other day for a check up and as expected I am perfect and had the vets all drooling over me saying what a beautiful chap I am, the only slight issue was when I wanted to play with all the new toys on the rack - well its their fault for having them down so low and they should be better secured. Right?

Steve and Marion are getting used to my ways now and I will soon have them trained although Marion loves to teach me new tricks and I can now sit , lay down and as a finale role over onto my back, all to get a treat of course! Clever eh?

Enzo

Decided to give Steve a break and now only get up at around 6.00 a.m. instead of 4.00 a.m. so he seems a lot happier don't really know what his problem is. Any ideas? Steve has been taking me along the reservoir, he rides his mountain bike and I run alongside for about an hour a couple of times a week, vet says that is fine for now and thinks once I get to eighteen months should be able to go out for longer.

I have at least 2 walks a day off the lead and have apparently been rather too playful at times, just loving to nip Steve's ankles don't know why, just seems a good, fun idea. Heard Steve say the other day 'that will soon be stopped' so think he has a plan! Hopefully it will not be that horrible tin that they shake in the house when I am really contemplating serious mischief, just into my stride and they completely ruin my fun such spoil sports!

Enzo what are you up to?

Met a couple of guys when off the lead and was very nice to them but still cannot resist if I see other dogs running off to play with them; Steve gets so excited when I do that, blowing his whistle, leaping about, shouting etc., oh well, nowt so strange as folk!

He fully appreciated my love of squirrels the other day and was definitely not happy with my enthusiastic antics, however, I came back so what's his issue? Needs to chill a bit. Kept muttering something about being late for work!

In the house its all pretty good and Steve and Marion have learned not to leave anything around, but they do not have a lid on the washing basket, so there is always something I can get hold of and run around with if want attention. Although have to say this game does not seem to have the same effect nowadays and consequently becoming bored with this prank and will have to think up another. I have a bed in front of the fire, one on the landing and various sheepskin rugs that I use, also have this sofa that Jynx and Hector (my predecessors) used to have but still prefer a nice chair when I get the chance however I am thrown out of of these. Some owners?! That's me for now folks, Young Enzo signing off, will pose for some more pictures and keep you all up to-date with tales of my new life.

Oskie

Young Oskie

A few lines in the Spring from Oskie's new family described how thrilled they are with this gangly young Dobe who is going to be one large dog. His favourite companion is young Charlotte whose shoes and hairbands he seems to have a fetish for as he constantly steals them. Oskie is an affectionate lad who can be extremely clumsy at times hence his first swim was when he fell off the bridge over a shallow brook through the farm and went right under but then discovered the water only came up to his tummy! He is ruled by the household matriarch Dotty the lurcher and her favourite ploy to wind Oskie up is to sit on his toys which drives him absolutely mad! At the end of May Pam saw Oskie in his lovely rural home up a quiet track surrounded by fields living very happily with his family horses and lots of geese. One Dobe who will not be short of exercise or company. Read more about Oskie in the Dobie Trail 2011.

Beau

beau

Beau's owners often send through up-dates and photos to say how he is doing, unfortunately it was not possible to fit in a trip to catch up with him on the Dobie Trail 2011. Beau's days are varied as Pat goes out to work early in the morning around 5.30 a.m. as she works as a pastry chef. Beau does not believe this to be a sane time to get up so he usually remains in bed to around 8.00 a.m. when it's time to check the garden out with Chris and make sure that no unwelcome over night visitors need removing from his garden. Pat receives a tremendous welcome on arrival home as she has usually been shopping so the bags need a thorough checking over in case their is a goodie especially for Beau. Besides enjoying his walks Beau has loads of toys to amuse himself with and he especially enjoys chasing and catching a ball. When Chris returns home in the early hours a couple of nights a week after playing at a gig then Beau is waiting to welcome him home and thinks it an ideal time to play indoor catch which has to be done very quietly as Pat like most sensible people is sleeping!

Holly

Holly

Visited Holly at the end of May, read more about her on the Dobie Trail 2011.

2007 to 2010

Dobermanns that were rehomed after being featured on a former website run by Pam and Milford prior to January 2011. Please note these are not FOND dobermanns.

The previous website run by Pam and sponsored by Milford was launched in 2007, quite a following developed for the many dobermanns that were rehomed with its assistance. The following is an update on just a few of those dobes Pam caught up with between the 12 and 21 April 2010. Her travels took her to Humberside, Selby, a hamlet outside Huddersfield and on down to deepest Somerset returning via Worcestershire, Cheshire, Lancashire, Cumbria and Dundee.

Dixie

Dixie The Dobermann

Travelling down the east side of the country taking in Newcastle and Durham Cathedral our first stop was a diversion into West Yorkshire to meet Dixie who originally came to rescue in a thin and nervous state from a very troubled background having been cruelly treated and bred from before she was mentally and physically able to cope. Dixie made a huge transition to sharing a home in the country with Sid a laid back dobie who tragically died prematurely with suspected leukemia Dixie has turned into a beautiful looking bitch and is in fine condition however she does need more socialisation with both humans and livestock as she can be quite reactionary. In addition to lovely rural walks Dixie has a two acre paddock to play in and enjoys her toys. Hopefully she will be attending local obedience and training classes to help over come her anxieties. Today she is much loved and very well cared for by devoted owners who are perhaps a little too indulgent.

Rosie

Rosie The Dobermann

When we first met Rosie she was called Kea and was so fat she could only waddle and her back was so broad you could have use have her as a small table! Rosie was a rescue case in the second home that we knew of. Her owner surrendered her as he had serious health problems, he had taken Rosie from a Rescue Centre knowing she had been abused, subjected to a stabbing, possible cigarette burns and a horrendous docking. Despite all this Rosie is an absolute gem and with her new owners is one of the most easy going, relaxed, well mannered dogs you could ever wish to meet. Initially Rosie pulled like a train on the lead, now she walks to heel no lead required, lives happily with Snoogie the cat and despite still being overweight can run for ages and swim like a fish. Rosie loves to lie on the front lawn outside her home watching the world go by and being greeted by all the neighbours who love and appreciate her gentle nature. Her only real dislikes seem to be men in fluorescent jackets, cyclists and a fear of a newspaper or magazine being picked up. Rosie now has devoted owners who have been prepared to cope with her incontinence problems and give her the time and attention that rescue dogs so desperately need. Needless to say her excess weight problem is being addressed by plenty of exercise but possibly a few less snacks might help too ... it would be hard not to indulge Rosie.

Young Ozzie

Ozzie The Dobermann

A handsome, very tall individual Ozzie is somewhat spoilt but kept in absolutely tremendous condition. If he was a person I'm sure he would be a regular visitor to the gym doing weight training. Well walked Ozzie has a very special diet enjoying extras like a boneless kipper on a Friday and his own plate of Sunday roast each week. Ozzie does need a few basic good manners reinforced and further socialisation as he is a bit wary of strangers. He is very playful and can show dominant tendancies, and likes to have something like an old tee shirt to trash and carry around. He lives with a loving family in a large home with extensive garden and great walks on the doorstep where all 3 members of the family take their turn with his exercise regime. Ozzie's early days where spent shut up in a crate for nearly 8 hours a day and then his young owners split up and surrendered him for rehoming. Now he has a fun and caring family to live with, however, a little firmness would not go amiss from a certain member of the household, sometimes you can be too nice!

Amber

Amber The Dobermann

A senior lady who was rehomed after being featured on the website she is now the beloved pet of lady living in Wiltshire. Amber is very sweet natured and friendly only hving eyes for her Christa. Initially rehomed with the lovely Harley, a weimaraner who sadly died recently of old age, they would curl up under their blankets together like two lovers. Amber now in her ninth year does have some arthritic problems and when Metacam did not agree with her tummy the vet recommended she should lose weight, despite not being overweight. Having done this Amber is now virtually sound and able to continue exercising like a young dobie. Alas our lunch time meeting was all too brief with this happy, well loved dobermann whose owner frequently supports one of the dobermann rescue organisations collecting dogs and doing home checks for them. We all enjoyed a good walk together which made a welcome change from the hours spent behind a steering wheel.

Kaya

Kaya The Dobermann

One of the many seniors that has come up for rehoming for whatever reason this grand fellow found himself distressed and just a frame pining away in Rescue Kennels in the very north of Scotland. Kaya also needed an operation to remove growths on his rear end these are known as adenomas and are caused by an excess of testosterone so he was castrated at the same time. A specialist rescue heard about Kaya's plight from one of its members and took on responsibility for his well being. Not long after he was featured on the website a particularly caring couple drove from Somerset to Aberdeenshire to meet him. Kaya found himself in dog heaven from the cold and windswept north of Scotland he moved to the soft warmth of Somerset's countryside to live with a wise Siamese called Simba who is an expert in handling dobermanns. Kaya and Simba now happily share a basket which is strategically place for them to observed any comings and goings around their extensive domain. They take walks together and Kaya has been very busy clearing the top paddock of its large rabbit population, but now he has dealt with those he will just have to admire the wild flowers! It was a joy to find this old lad in such excellent fettle after our initial introduction some nine months ago when he was in such a pitiful state.

Marley

Marley The Dobermann

What fun it was to catch up with Marley, he has not aged a bit and is as fit as a flea again another senior in his tenth year. We first met Marley when he was living in an isolated crofter's cottage in the Grampian mountains having been rehomed there from a city in the north east of England. His new owner was working full time and Marley was spending long lonely days on his own and was quite destructive, being an expert in the art of bed chewing with a few car seat belts thrown in for good measure. Marley came into kennels and being the handsome fellow he is soon attracted attention from his pictures and story on the website. His new young and enthusiastic owners flew up from the Midlands, met Marley who we walked together with our dobies on a local beach and then drove him back to his new home the next day. That was almost a couple of years ago and Marley now has a new addition to his family in the form of young Oliver aged 4 months. This dobie lives on Planet Marley and whilst I was there for coffee and cake he busied himself around the house and garden either with a toy or wellie boot in his mouth, snatched a piece of cake off the table whilst backs were turned for a split second and welcomed in a wandering neighbour's labrador. He has not managed to destroy his Tuffie bed but will march up the stairs trailing his duvet between his front legs and recall is still to suit Marley. Marley is a lucky chap his owners are calm, quiet and totally unruffled in their approach which suits Marley's nature perfectly.

Boston

Boston The Dobermann

We get some big strong dobies and we get Boston type dobies. Those alas bred by people out for a quick buck who have done no health checks and know nothing about the breed and then when they do breed dobies don't feed the mum in pup properly or her puppies when they arrive. Boston is a sweetie, a small dobe light of bone with a charming nature but alas he has a heart murmur which is thought to be a congenital problem and this was not helped in his early days by not being properly reared. He has now been adopted by his foster family who are unique in that they are not influenced by looks, or problems a dog may have, they deal with them in a sensible and down to earth manner and as a result have a happy household with children, dogs and farm livestock including free range chickens, sheep, cattle, horses and pigs. The only issue Boston still has is with the feral cats but they keep well out of the way peering at him from hay bales stacked high in the barn. Boston loves playing ball, is seldom without one and also enjoys tumbling about with the other dogs. He is a happy and friendly soul and whilst I was visiting came and flopped at my feet as we chatted in the sitting-room and was still fast asleep when I left. However long this little fellow's life may or may not be he is going to enjoy what he has to the full.

Merlin/Freddie

Merlin The Dobermann

Merlin was featured on the website on behalf of an animal rescue in Cumbria after he had been surrendered to a local pound. New life, new name a great big chap Freddie as he is now known quickly attracted attention finding a loving home with a couple in Cheshire who were quick off the mark beating all other interest. Now he lives in great style with acres of fields to exercise in. It won't be many months before he is a trim figure of a dobe, apparently a grossly overweight 52 kgs when rescued. Freddie absolutely idolizes his new owner and rarely lets her out of his sight. A few teething problems initially when his Mum went out into the yard as Freddie became very anxious when she went into a stable but he has quickly settled into his new routine after the trauma of pound life and is now attending local obedience classes. Sharing a home with two lovely rescue girls and with his own bed in front of an Aga, plua a huge chair in the Anug this is another dobie whose fortunes have justly turned around.

Harry

Harry The Dobermann

What can I say about Harry, he is awesome. Harry has a presence and it was like being with a benevolent and worldly guru. Harry's high set ears give his serene face an even stronger charisma, a grand, big amiable dobie it is hard to believe anyone could have treated him so cruelly. Harry is obviously above human frailty and is a forgiving, knowing and loving dog. He lives on a boat on the east coast in the north of England and has acres of sand to exercise on which he does with his new best friend a little brindle bitch called Tara. Harry not only found new owners but was reunited with his breeders who were distraught about the circumstances that led to him being rescued as all their puppies are sold on the condition that at whatever age there is a problem the dog should be returned to them. A little while ago there was a grand reunion when Harry met his Mum, his Dad and other dobie relatives. Here's hoping that Harry has many happy years aboard ship. A great ambassador for the breed.

Honey

Honey The Dobermann

Honey originally came up for rehoming with Snoopy however it was in her best interests that they be rehomed independently as she is like her name a neat and petite little bitch and was being overwhelmed by her litter brother. Honey now has a bouncy brindle boxer, also a rescue dog, to keep her company and he is quite protective and possessive about her. They live in a remote area of Cumbria in an old farm cottage and although the family work and children are at school, grandparents living next door in a renovated barn are also involved in the dogs well being. It was just a short meeting with this dainty, friendly character whose young owner was off to sixth form classes when I called. Situated in lovely walking country with lots of rabbits about these caused a few problems with recall initially. Honey used to be a city girl and couldn't believe the fun you could have chasing these furries! There are also quite a lot of sheep about so her owners have to be careful where the dogs go off lead. If a farmer finds your dog even near his sheep he will shoot to kill.

Jinty

Jinty The Dobermann

Nearly home, just a hundred miles to go and a warm welcome from couple who have adopted the jaunty Jinty. What a beautiful looking girl, a good sized bitch aged just 14 months old who oozes class and is in pristine condition. Absolutely doted on by her new owners, hopefully not to extreme, as this girl looks as though she has potential to excel in obedience and agility classes being well adjusted and laid back but with an active mind that would benefit from the interaction. Jinty was rehomed through no fault of her own, sad tale of elderly owner unable to give her the time and exercise she needs, Jinty had already obtained her KC Good Citizen's Bronze Award before moving. Hope to report that she will eventually be going for Gold!

Finally home to be greeted by our own rescue dobie Jenna and her ever patient companion Arnold.

Jenna The Dobermann

Jenna

Lovely to see my girl again having been away for 10 days. Usual super mad greeting with Jenna grabbing the nearest tea towel or oven cloth to tear around the kitchen island wiggling as she goes, Arnold trying to get his nose in for a cuddle between her top speed mad bumps and circuits.

It's over two years since Jenna joined us having had several homes before she was 18 months old now she has become such a confident wee girl, loves going to her socialisation and obedience classes and also shows a talent for agility. Successfully achieved all three KC Good Citizens Awards. Favourite occupation looking for bunnies in the sand dunes.

This is the first time we've had a rescue dog and the bond is just as strong as if we had raised her from a pup. Cannot exaggerate enough the pleasure we get looking at her curled up at night after a busy day, content and secure after a difficult start in life.

Dobermanns that were rehomed after being featured on a former website run by Pam and Milford prior to January 2011. Please note these are not FOND dobermanns.

James

James - Success Story Rescue Dog

Rooney first came to the website sponsors in March 2010 when pictures of his doleful face peering between pound bars pulled more than a few heart strings. From a remote Cumbrian town he was surrendered by owners on medical recommendation after a family member developed a serious allergy to him. He was distraught by his circumstances. He quickly found a home, but hours before his new owners set off to meet him - his original family claimed him back and wanted to try again. Alas the scenario repeated itself in the Autumn and once more Rooney howled his misery from the pound. Fortunately a kindly couple who had recently lost their Dobie, Jan and Richard from Cheshire saw Rooney's plight and offered this handsome, serious looking boy a home.

James - Rescued Dog

Rooney was taken from the pound by caring Julie W who fostered him for a couple of days whilst a home check was carried out and she gave Rooney a much needed bath. Jan and Richard found Rooney was not really responding to his name so he became James as his attitude to life reminded them of James Stewart! His new owners say he is a very laid back individual and a clever dog who soon adapted to his new routine which includes 3 walks a day. He is now looking extremely fit and, as the photos show, James is a large, handsome Dobe. People-friendly with good recall and keen to play with most other dogs, he is an enjoyable individual to walk. However, squirrels and cats beware because James is on a mission if he spots one ... not so nice then! Like most Dobies when you have been out and return home he likes to welcome you with a shoe or some other item.

It took a while for James to relax as he was initially quite restrained and solemn following the loss of his family and the time spent in a pound. Now, he is a cheerful and more playful fellow who especially enjoys his weekends when there are special outings. James is becoming quite an authority on woodland walks as he loves nothing more than fossicking about in the undergrowth and can be seen at places like Alderley Edge, Etherow Country Park, Bramhall Hall, Styal Mill and Chadwick Chapel.

When Jan is working from home he just curls up beside her as she works away on her computer. Recently he has had to organise workmen who were fitting a new bathroom and he is becoming used to the sounds of children passing by on their way to and from school when he can be a bit 'woofie'. James now has a lovely caring home with a couple who appreciate what a special Dobe they have. Latest we have heard he is going to attend Dog School .... have fun James!

Lara

Lara - Success Story Rescue Dog

After Julie and Kevin saw Lara on the website they contacted Pam who put them in touch with Evelyn having a long chat to find out whether they would make suitable owners. They wrote the following: 'Evelyn explained Lara had sadly been given up for rehoming after events occurred meaning her original owner could no longer keep her. We travelled up to Ayrshire from Yorkshire to meet her the following weekend and expected to find a shy dobie, instead a 100mph rocket launched herself at us! For Kevin it was love at first sight and Lara had definitely found her new home.'

'We realised that Princess Lara found her accommodations acceptable when on arrival home she selected a comfy spot by the fireplace and surveyed her territory with crossed paws, quite the lady of the manor!'

Lara - Rescue Dog Success Story

'Our girl does nothing by halves, she's full on in every regard. In the morning she greets us with the waggiest stump and widest smile as though we've been gone a month. She loves her walks and is good with other dogs that she meets along the way. Anyone willing to play a game of chase is her best friend. She enjoys obedience classes and a group walk with her classmates every week and her trainer continues to be surprised by how quickly she learns her next command. Nothing comes close to the obsession she has with her ball on a rope. Lara will perform every trick she's been taught to try to coerce you to throw this for her so she can chase it. Since being spayed she has developed a voracious appetite so it's a good job she likes to be active and maintain her figure!'

'We don't have children but Lara has been gentle, kind and patient with friends' children, even young toddlers with their high pitched squeals. She takes exception to the cats and squirrels who invade 'her' garden, shouting to give them a proper telling off!'

'Kevin and I are quite convinced that we must have been invisible in our 'Life Before Lara.' Since she joined us on our walks through the village or around towns for cafe/pub lunches just about every person passing by comments on how beautiful she is and comes over to talk to us and pat her. She was initially a little timid but with time she's blossoming into a confident, well adjusted companion who is learning to accept and enjoy every situation.' Lara was loved in her previous home and her first owner will hopefully be pleased to know that she is happy and doing well and now has a young companion called Zack who is a neutered black and tan male.

Duke and Miya

Duke and Miya with their Toys in the Garden

Two young dobes who were rehomed with the same family in Morayshire, in December 2009 and June 2010 respectively. Duke had been through several homes before he was two and did not get the best start in life - one lady rescued him, however, with several other dogs in the household he was not accepted by one of them so had to be rehomed again. In his next home he was unhappy with city life, living in a flat and from there went to a couple in the country. Sadly for Duke these owners split up, so wanting him to find a permanent home, they approached a rescue to ask for help.

Duke and Miya Posing For The Camera

Fortunately for Duke a really active couple were waiting in the wings and had no hesitation about offering him a home with their teenage family and assorted rescue cats. Duke moved into his new home just before the big freeze and snow last winter. He had already been living with five cats so Nicky's band of feline rescues was not an issue and he quickly adapted to their busy life style, perfectly happy to travel with them between various properties they were renovating or to go for long walks in the forest and on the nearby beaches. Duke's only real issue was being very vocal when meeting other dogs and behaving like Zebedee on the end of the lead due to lack of socialization and some hang-ups left over from previously being bullied.

Duke On A Walk

Some months later Miya, another laid back dobie brought up in a family with young daughter, cats, another dog and horses came up for rehoming. Very sad for her owner who having been advised by her doctor to rehome all of her animals after being diagnosed with a debilitating and chronic lung condition. Nicky and Tony felt Duke would benefit from a companion and made the long drive to introduce the two dobies. Duke and Miya got along famously from the start and suddenly Duke decided to put all his training into practice and astonish his owners by trying to be the world's best behaved dobie!! A visit in the Summer found two relaxed and very happy young dobermanns who made visitors very welcome, both dogs enjoying life to the full with their varied and active routine. Owners who sadly had to give these dogs up can rest assured they are happily settled as the pictures on this page and the gallery show.

Lulu

Lulu's Latest Day Trip

Received a lovely note with photos of Lulu, who was featured on the website in 2010 looking for a new home. This is what her new owners had to say:
'Hello, we would like to say big Thank You for showing Lulu on your website. After we lost our beloved Abe prematurely due to liver disease and being so scared of an empty house we went to see Lulu the very next day. Grief and a sleepless night did not stop us from falling in love with her immediately. It was the longest and hardest week until we could pick Lulu up the following weekend. From the start she settled with us and our senior cat very well.'

Happily Rehomed Lulu With New Friend

'Lulu enjoys a big park which is very close to us and various other walks we do every possible spare moment. The gorgeous smile she gives when she welcomes us home is wonderful. Although we miss Abe so much, Lulu is like the younger sister he never had the chance to meet. We feel great about not going for a puppy instead giving a good home to a dog in need. Lulu gets to know so many dogs in the park and uses every opportunity to play chase so calling her back can be a challenge due to her selective deafness! She is lovely with children, loves our cat especially for leaving his leftovers but always waits patiently until he has finished his food and then cleans his bowl to perfection. Burned patches on the lawn? Who cares! Before Lulu it was our plants that suffered but we wouldn't swap a nice unmarked lawn for all the joy that this monkey gives us! Thank you.
Gosia and Mark.' (Extra pics on - Picture Gallery - page).

Kyro and Kara

Dobermanns Kyro and Kara

Here are two dobes who came through the website for rehoming from very different circumstances. Kyro's owner reluctantly gave him up due to a change in her personal circumstances, and having invested a great deal of affection and time in Kyro he was well trained, socialized and a true family dog. Kyro quickly settled in with his Ayrshire family enjoying life between home and office where he reclined on a chaise longue watching the world go by. Recreation time was spent enjoying romps on the beach with his dog friends. Life changed and he now has his own special companion to run and play with as he has been joined by Zara, now known as Kara.

There was some debate between Chris and Mary as to whether Kyro should remain an 'only dobie' being Chris's 'special boy' he thought having a bitch in Kyro's life might upset him! Lola almost joined the family but Chris held out, however, Mary had read about Kara's tragic circumstances on the website and spoken in depth with Evelyn. The two dobies met and got on famously with both owners succumbing to Kara's good looks and charm; hence her forever home was assured. Needless to say Kara quickly settled in to the routine with Kyro as the photographs show.

Kara was bred in Ireland and somehow landed up in her second and most inappropriate home in Scotland when she was surrendered to a dobermann rescue in extremely poor condition and a nervous state. She had been living outside with working dogs in bitter winter conditions and ended up trying to be a sheep dog with nearly tragic consequences. It took time to gain her confidence and get condition on Kara so that she was fit enough to be spayed prior to rehoming. Fortunately those days are behind Kara and she and Kyro make a loving couple enjoying and sharing a beautiful home and garden where they could not be more loved.

During the Spring the family went on a special dog holiday in a hired camper van which the dobes thought was great fun peering out of the window sitting side by side making people walking past do a double take. Evenings enjoyed with fantastic weather lying by their owners who supped on a G&T, gazing out to sea together. A dobe's life can be so good!(More pic on the Picture Gallery.)

Ben and Jess

Dobermann Dogs Now Rehomed - Ben and Jess

Some visitors to this website will have seen Mother and Son, Jess 12 years old and Ben 10 years old, featured on the site urgently looking for a home in April 2009. They went together to a lovely family in the Midlands who committed to permanently fostering them. Here is an update on their progress in their new home from Richard, Heather and family.

Ben and Jess came from an awful situation and were in a poor and depressed condition. We are so pleased that they came to our attention and we were able to take them under our wing to ensure that their last few years will be spent in happiness and comfort with a loving family.

Doberman Dogs Now Rehomed - Ben and Jess

Update: Autumn 2009

We thought you'd like to hear about Jess and Ben and how they are getting on here. It doesn't feel like a month ago since they arrived to live with us, in fact it feels as if they have been with us for a very long time and have fitted in so well into our lives. Everyone who meets them has been entirely won over by their lovely, affectionate and very genuine good nature.

Dobermanns Now Rehomed - Ben and Jess

We had previously owned a lovely older Doberman called Petra, also from a dobermann rescue organisation and missed her terribly when she died. It had taken a while to feel that we could have another dog but after reading Ben and Jess's details knew that we could offer them a lovely foster home in the countryside with a doting family of older children.

Dobermann Dogs Now Rehomed - Ben

They travelled really well to the Midlands and were very excited upon their arrival and raced around the paddock following each other everywhere. From day one they were very settled, sleeping well at night and content to potter about during the day. Right from the start Jess decided that she would spend the day at Rich's feet whilst he worked in the office. In fact she now has two beds - her day time office bed and her night time bed! Ben likes to keep an eye on things during the day and lies in the doorway laid out fast asleep. When the rest of us arrive home they then move into the living room for lots of fuss and attention. Jess is a real lady and curls up like a fawn.

Dobermann Dogs Now Rehomed - Jess

Just recently we have found that she likes to sit on your lap, if you're sitting on the floor - she loves a comfy seat and really can't get enough fuss. She shuts her eyes as you stroke her, almost falling asleep whilst standing! Ben is very careful with his Mum and looks around for her when she's not there. He seems to have improved his strength and is very interested in what is going on around him. He loves his food and has discovered the delights of large chewy bones!

They both like to potter around the garden together and Ben has truly decided that this is his property and sends any rabbits and pigeons packing. Jess will follow in hot pursuit! At weekends they have been spending lots of time in the garden watching us work! It's lovely to see them both just enjoying the freedom we can give them with shady trees to lie under when the weather gets hot.

Their coats are really shiny now and they are growing new, gingery hair on the bald bits! Jessie has even started to grow lots of hair, tinged with white, on her ears too.

Rehomed Dobermans - Ben

They love their food and appreciate everything they are given. In fact they are appreciative of everything that is done for them, whether it be lots of fuss, being brushed and combed, or being taken out for walks. They like to come up and nuzzle you and tilt their heads on one side ready to be fussed. We can't wait to see their reaction to the log burner in the winter - I think a spot in front of the fire will become a popular place for a sleep!

Ben and Jess have been fantastic ambassadors for their breed, everyone who has met them can't believe what lovely dogs they are and they are gaining an ever increasing fan club of admirers! Despite all they have been through Ben and Jess are still prepared to trust the human race and they have given us so much pleasure. Although we wish we could have had them both earlier in their lives and given them the life they deserve we are so glad that we have been given the opportunity to make a big difference to the latter part of their lives, however long that may be. It has been so rewarding to have Jess and Ben as part of our family and we would highly recommend giving a home to an older dog. Richard and Heather. Sadly Ben had to be put to sleep in November 2010 after suffering a stroke.

Marley

Doberman Dogs Happily Rehomed - Marley

Marley a marvellous character whose antics have had to be taken with a double dose of patience from time to time as he is not adverse to a bit of destruction especially when it came to beds and car seat belts. He possibly holds the record for chewing up his beds until Tuffies of Turrifff put him on the Really Tough Tuffie Challenge last year and surprise, surprise the bed is still winning! Marley has of course turned his activities to other items including one of Tori's hats, numerous squeaky hedgehogs and to trying to spring open doors within his home by pouncing and bouncing on them when he has been left shut the other side.

Dobermanns Happily Rehomed - Marley

At the moment he is in his element because Michael is busy with DIY activities so he supervises those from his owner's bed or gazes across his favourite fields and countryside waiting for the next walk or dip in the canal. Marley was quite a puller on his lead but that all came to an end having been introduced to a Gencon headcollar. He now parades around his local towns of Droitwich, Worcester and Kidderminster - quite the dobie about town.

Happily Rehomed Dobies - Marley

Being a more senior member when needing to be re-homed Marley was not immediately taken for the snip, but old habits die hard and he was being a pain when meeting bitches and seemed to have a particular fetish for the very small ones, causing their owners some consternation. Duly neutered and with stitches out he is in fine fettle but it will probably be 3 or 4 months before those 'naughty thoughts' go out of his head. With endless patience Marley's recall has improved as this was a dog who used to decide where he was going to walk and you followed!

Stan

Success Story About Rehoming Rescue Dogs - Happily Rehomed Stan

Poor Stan had rather a long stay in kennels which he did not enjoy after being surrendered to a dobermann rescue centre by his original owners.

His luck changed in December 2008 when a family living in the Outer Hebrides saw him on this website. They were not deterred by the ferry trip, the long car journey to collect him, nor the considerable expense; not forgetting some dreadful weather at that time.

Success Story About Rehoming Rescue Dogs - Stan is now Rehomed Successfully Rehomed Stan

His new owners have always re-homed rescue dogs and Stan now has a lovely home where he enjoys warmth, company, comfort and lovely beach walks - as the pictures taken in March 2009 show.

Stan used to have a very over enthusiastic and unwelcome approach to the girls and since being neutered this is no longer an issue. May Stan and his family have lots of happy years together.

Vita

Success Story About Rehoming Rescue Dogs - Happily Rehomed Vita

Vita came to the notice of Evelyn when her owners contacted her saying they were going abroad in two days time, yes two days, and not taking their dobie. Originally her owners had approached the Dog's Trust who did not have space for Vita and suggested they called a dobermann rescue organisation.

On arrival Vita's coat was in poor condition, she had spent her days living outside and slept in at night, she was born with only one kidney and had had an operation on her off-side quarter to remove a stick that staked her which has left a slight scar. We are pleased report Vita is now well settled in her new home and a much loved family pet with two companions Kyle and Zak. To read more about her please see - Dobie Tales

Success Story About Rehoming Rescue Dogs - Happily Rehomed Dobermann Amber

Amber

Happy endings are great and Amber's story is one of 'love at first sight' for all concerned. Her new owner read about Amber on the web site after she was surrendered to an Animal Refuge centre following a family breakdown.

As soon as the homecheck was successfully completed CL jumped in her car at 4.00am one August morning and with handsome Harley the weimaraner drove up to Carlisle from Wiltshire for what proved to be the beginning of the perfect rehoming tale, as you will see from the photos!

Successful Stories About Rehoming Rescue Dogs - Happily Rehomed Dobermann Amber

By 9.00pm that evening all three were back in Amber's new home, with no introductory problems whatsoever.

Amber and Harley are early risers, with their first walk of the day at 6.00am and another at mid-day.

Would You Like To Rehome A Rescue Dog? - Happily Rehomed Doberman Amber

A final walk at night completes their day, and on top of that they have a lovely home and large garden to enjoy.

Besides long walks and lounging in the garden with Harley, Amber loves swimming in the local lake! Apparently she's a real water dobe.

Success Story About Rehoming Rescue Dogs - Happily Rehomed Dobermann Snoopy

Snoopy

Snoopy joined the Wait family at the end of May 2008 and as you can see from the pictures and in their words he is a much loved member of the family.

Success Story About Rehoming Rescue Dogs - Snoopy Picture

Apparently his recall still needs improvement but he is walking better on the lead and doesn't pull as much, as long as there isn't a cat in sight! Many thanks to this family for giving Snoopy his forever home.
