Here, we present some lovely Dobermanns currently in the care of National Rescue Centers, Charities or other kennels in Scotland, England or Wales.
Dogs with Blue Ticks have all been rehomed.
Buddy
Buddy arrived as a stray with Wallace Kennels on the 12th October and he is desperately needing his new home. The kennels are a small mix breed rescue that take in the stray dogs from the Brentwood, Chelmsford and Dagenham area.
Buddy is microchipped. His owner gave him away to a friend who, after a week, passed him off to the dog warden as a stray. He is castrated, his vaccinations are out of date and he is 3 and a half years
old. Full medical history available.
To be rehomed as an only dog or with with a spayed female. He is definitely not cat friendly but it’s believed he could go with a family with children 12 years of age and up who are used to large active dogs. Someone will need to be home for the majority of the day to give him the time and attention he needs or be in a position to make suitable arrangements to offer him a stable environment with plenty of exercise.

Onyx
Black and Tan Dobermann Dog in the care of the Ponderosa Rescue Kennels. Currently we have no information on this Dobe except that he has a friendly nature. The kennels have a policy of asking people interested in a particular dog to call first and discuss the type of home they have to offer before providing more details about their dogs in for rehoming. All enquiries should be directly with the kennel for which the telephone number is (01977) 552303 and ask for Karen. Ponderosa Rescue Kennels and Cattery, Ninevah Lane, Allerton Bywater, Castleford, WF10 2EW.
Oscar
Black and Tan neutered, 7 y.o. Dobermann would love to find someone who can give him a home as the only pet. Lovely boy with people but unfortunately not good with other dogs and small furies plus he is strong on the lead. Sadly for Oscar his owners have split up and he has been languishing in kennels waiting for that understanding Dobermann home since February. If you have a quiet location and that special home contact the RSPCA in Chesterfield.
Telephone 01246 273358 between Visiting the Pets Hours of 11.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.
Message from Gary the Assistant Animal Centre Manager who is hoping that visitors to FOND’s website might mean that Oscar can find a knowledgeable, caring home. RSPCA are urgently looking
for an experienced Dobermann home for this handsome male who has been with them since being surrendered in February. We all know few Dobes thrive in kennels and sadly for Oscar he is there for domestic reasons and through no fault of his own. Like many rescue dogs he is not entirely straight forward however his previous owner said Oscar does travel well in the car, his recall is not the best as he is easily distracted if he sees another dog or small animal. Nevertheless the strong and boisterous Oscar likes to ‘chill out’ and relax, Gary has taken him for walks and sat with him in a field where Oscar happily lies by his side enjoying a fuss. Gary says Oscar is a lovely dog, who often acts like a puppy but is just in a slighter bigger body! If you can make a difference for Oscar please contact Gary on the above number. To learn all about Oscar’s needs please call.
Max
Very friendly black and tan, docked male Dobermann has just been taken into Dogs Trust, West Calder branch after being picked up as a stray currently under assessment. Age unknown, vet thinks he is around 3 years of age but he is docked so could be 5, depends where he has come from. Whatever this is a lovely big dog who is full of fun and lives life to its fullest. Max likes to go for long walks and exploring new places. He enjoys playing with his toys and his favourite game is for you to throw a tennis ball so he can catch it. Something which is is excellent at. A clever boy Max knows lots of tricks and is always eage to please and keen to learn new things.
Max is sharing a kennel with a Lurcher bitch and he is very happy with her, in fact he is completely ‘head over heels’ for her says Kim one of the West Calder team who adores Max. Because Max originally came from a pound there is no history as to whether he is fully house trained, can be left in the house or has lived with a family therefore he can only go into a home where there are no children younger than 14.
Max is looking for an experienced Dobermann home and his owners must be prepared for any settling in issues because of his unknown past. If you have knowledge of and thoroughly understand the breed please call Kim Mcgregor at the Dogs Trust Rehoming Centre, West Calder EH55 8LE Open: 12:00 hrs – 16:00 hrs. Closed: Tuesday (for staff training) Tel: 01506 873459

Gypsy
Loving and affectionate Dobie bitch who has fallen on hard times, can you open your home and hearts and turn her life around?
Gypsy is eight and a half years old and used to shared her life with two other female dogs in a rural area where they roamed freely during the day on a small holding and slept in a porch at night. Gypsy has recently under gone veterinary treatment for her teeth and is having various health tests carried out. Sweet natured girl who will make a lovely companion, she is well behaved around livestock and travels well in the car, but has not lived with cats although having been introduced to them by one of the rescue’s staff believe she will not be a problem. Micro-chipped and vaccinated Gypsy needs that special home now. Please contact Dumfries & Galloway Rescue Centre, Dovecotewell, by Glenncaple, Dumfries, Scotland DG1 4RH Telephone (01387) 770210 Ref. No: 024/12
Ozzy
Ozzy is a 7 month old dobermann male, who came into the RSPCA Leeds and Wakefield as his owner was unable to care for him. A very friendly, black and tan puppy, he is excitable and over the top having had very little training, and was being left alone for exceedingly long periods. Ozzy is looking for a caring,
experienced large, energetic breed owner, preferably with Dobermann experience. He will need plenty of space and time and patience to settle and learn some manners. Ozzy will need to attend training / socialisation classes and as he develops is going to need lots of exercise. This is not a short term job. Ozzy needs to be an only pet to begin with due to his boisterous nature, but may be OK to live with older children (teenagers). Please telephone Mobile: 07743 773871 for more information. Please note we only rehome our dogs as pets. To visit RSPCA site click on …more details…
Tia
Black and tan Dobermann bitch who urgently needs a knowledge home with owner who understands the breed. Tia suffers from separation anxiety and is VWD positive and is very depressed in kennels. Affectionate and like most Dobes enjoys a fuss she is fine with most other dogs but will not be rehomed where there are young children. For more details contact Edinburgh Cat and Dog Home, 26 Seafield Road East, Edinburgh, EH15 1EH Telephone 0131 669 5331.
Max
Black and tan, 2 years old – a stunning boy who is looking for a new home due to a change in his owner’s circumstances. Max is a very friendly, loving male who is looking for a home with experienced Dobermann owners. He is a normal active young male who requires a home where he will get plenty of exercise, training and affection. He is currently in a foster home with other dogs and mixes well with them, however, he is not used to cats. Max is very loyal and does suffer with some separation anxiety and therefore needs a home with someone around for most of the day. You can see – more details about Max here – if you are interested in helping to rehome this lovely dog please contact Liverpool Dog Rescue and speak to Amy Hornsby (Co-ordinator) on 07706 246865. Address: (Head Office) Liverpool Dog Rescue 1990, Inglenook, Storeton Lane, Barnston CH61 1BU.
Cleopatra and Anthony
Up-date: 4 November 2011 This lovely pair of brown Dobies go to their new home week commencing 7 November. Good luck to them. Cleopatra (red collar) is approx 4 years old and Anthony (green
collar) is approx 8 years old. This lovely pair were thrown away, found wandering the streets and ended up in the pound. No one claimed them and of course no one wanted them so they were taken in by Many Tears Rescue in the hope that some kind soul out there may adopt the pair. They are sweet dogs who really didn’t deserve the treatment their last owner has inflicted on them by throwing them out without a care of what their fate would be.
They are now living in a foster home and are lovely affectionate Dobes who adore everyone and will become very loyal to their special people. They may have lived outside previously due to their coats and condition but the toilet training is getting there and they’re very keen to please. They are good with other dogs, do not chew or steal things and can be left for a reasonable amount of time with the run of the house. Cleopatra is a true Velcro Dobe in and out of the house; her recall is excellent as she likes to stick very close to you. She has just learnt the joys of running in big open spaces and has a wonderful time hurtling round in big circles, stopping however still needs some work as she forgets to look where she’s going and will sometimes stop by crashing into you or the other dogs! She walks very well on the lead and is respectful and easy in the house.
Anthony is a sweet yet cheeky old man; in the house he’s stuck to your hip and will nudge you for attention, this boy just desperately wants to be loved and would be more than happy to sit there all day long being stroked and cuddled. He walks well on the lead but his recall is a work in progress as he’s a bit of a wanderer when out in the fields. He is a very loving Dobe who deserves a comfortable home and someone special to care for him in his later years. They’ve been good with older children we have met but as we don’t know their history and they’re big dogs without much special awareness, they should go to an adult only home. These two adore each other and really need to stay together, if you love Dobes, you won’t be able to help but fall in love with this pair.
For further information please visit website – please note that all applications must
go through Many Tears Rescue. They are currently being fostered in Swindon, Wilts.
Snoop
Snoop now rehomed – Report from Eileen Matthews: On my visit I found Snoop to be very friendly and felt given a chance and time to settle he will make wonderful, loyal companion. Considering how long he has been in kennels he is a credit to the kennel owner Jayne who has given him so much of her time and treats him as one of her own. Snoop is good health. He is 6 years old, an outgoing Dobe who loves playing ball and is a very loving dog. He would benefit from one-to-one training and lots of playing. Further details from Jayne at the kennels on 01743 791701 or call Eileen Matthews on 01691 682085. Shropshire area.
Stanley
23 June – We called the Dog’s Trust and have learnt that Stanley has been successfully rehomed. A handsome black and tan male the Dog’s Trust in Shropshire asked us to introduce.
Star
Update: 22 June – Star has been visited over the past weeks by a lady who has now made that special commitment and taken Star home with her. Hoping that Star settles down and now has her
forever home.
Black and tan, 2 year old Dobermann bitch in small rescue based in Worcestershire who must go to an experienced Dobermann home. Star cannot be rehomed with another dog, children or small furries.
Diesel
30 April Happy to report Diesel has now been in his new home for a few days as a result of being found here, on the FOND website. Hopefully he is now in his forever home. Handsome 6 year old male Dobermann, finds himself back in Lizzie’s Barn a dog sanctuary due to new family having a member with allergies to his coat.
It was a wonderful home and there was general disappointment all round. He is a very big and well built dog, but is an absolute baby at heart. Diesel is doing well with the other dogs at the sanctuary a situation he has not found himself in before as the fellow residents come in all shapes and size however he is learning fast. Diesel is house trained, OK in the car and likes to be covered up at bed-time. Typical gentle Dobie. For more information regarding Diesel please contact Lizzie’s Barn.
Breeze and Bracco Junior
26 April – Breeze has been rehomed. A good looking young Dobermann bitch who needs a new home to find out more about her please contact the Ponderosa Rescue Centre, Ninevah Lane, Allerton Bywater, Castleford WF10 2EW. telephone 01977 552303 or 516713.
23 April – Bracco has been rehomed Black and tan castrated year old male needs rehoming due to a family break up. Bracco has been a great companion to the children in his previous family and is good with other dogs. In the words of his owner who is very depressed to be losing his dog, he is generally a ‘great’ dog. However he is very energetic and not for a novice owner as he is strong and does pull a bit on the lead. Recall is excellent as most of his exercise has previously been free running. Please call the Arituar Kennel and speak to Jay Horgan on (01538) 703072.
Jasper
Update 13 April Jasper has been rehomed with owner who has owned five rescue Dobermanns in the past and will be at home all day for him. Young male dobermann, 1 year old urgently
needs experienced home with time for him. Poor Jasper his owner died unexpectedly and he was taken to a vet to be PTS fortunately this kindly person contacted PAWZ for Thought an animal rescue in the north east and Jasper is now looking for his forever home. Castrated, vaccinated and micro-chipped Jasper is good on the lead, friendly and playful. He is house trained and social with people and other dogs and is apparently OK with cats. Because his full history is unknown and because of his youthfulness he is not suitable for a home with children under 12. Applicants need to be experienced with Dobermanns, around most of the day for further training, with a secure garden and access to good walking. Please contact Lynne Ebdale (0191) 5491982 or on her mobile 07718771591 who is hoping you can help.
Kano
Up-date: Kano has been rehomed and is well settled in his new home. Previously in kennels since April 2010, his owner is now terminally ill. Black and tan, 4 1/2 year old entire male is a quiet and reserved Dobe. Worming and vaccinations are up-to-date including kennel cough. Kano will be micro-chipped and registered to new owners when that right person comes along. Kano will also be neutered at present owner’s expense before being rehomed. Kano is becoming stressed with kennel life which might explain his reserve and needs a home with someone around most of the day. He is reasonable out on the lead however not good with cats or small furries. An extremely loving dog who seeks attention. It is felt Kano would be better homed as an only dog or possibly with one bitch.
Hoover
Up-date: 19 February. Hoover has a new home to go to and will be taking up residence next weekend 26 February. Great news for this fabulous Dobe. Happy, very social black and tan, entire male currently residing with Peter and family at Happyholidogs seeks new home.
Hoover is K.C. registered, micro-chipped and with all his vaccinations up to-date. Very fit for his 10 years and currently walking up to 10 miles a day in the company of other dogs, he travels well in the car and likes being groomed. Will not be rehomed with young family as Hoover’s only dislike is having someone stick their face down into his when he will let out a thunderous bark! Hoover is being rehomed through no fault of his own but due to a drastic change in his owner’s circumstances. This is a private rehoming and Hoover is not associated to any rescue organisation. Hoover would like someone to keep him company for the majority of his day as he adores people and is used to being a family dog.
Toblerone
Up-date: Toblerone was rehomed just over a week ago. Wish her well and hope that she is now in her forever home. A regular website visitor advised that Toblerone has become very depressed
in kennels. Her carers are really worried about Toblerone’s mental state. Can anyone offer her that special home? ooks like she might have to be a townie or somewhere with very secure grounds as Toblerone not unlike many dogs is not good with livestock and small furries. Beautiful Dobe but she is definitely in a decline for want of a home environment.
Up-date January Toblerone desperately wants a home. She has become depressed and dejected in kennels and from being a live wire enjoying her agility and training classes she is now one sad Dobe. 2 December: Toblerone was rehomed with a terrier, unfortunately they did not get on and she was returned. New owners only gave her 24 hours and she obviously needs someone to give her time to settle down and adjust with so many previous and traumatic changes in her young life. Black and tan, 2 year old bitch rescued from a from a pound in Brecon on 5 October, 2010 where she was due to be put to sleep. Attractive Dobie seeking an experienced dobermann home. Toblerone is not good with livestock and may need to be rehomed as an only dog. Call Liza or Natalie to find out more about Toberlone on (01269) 843084 between 10.00am and 4.00pm.
Toblerone walks well on a lead, but can pull. Many Tears say she is a ‘gem’ but needs an experienced handler. She could live with a castrated male but may be best suited as an only dog as she is now so unsettled. Toblerone is docked, vaccinated and micro-chipped. Unfortunately as she was rescued from a pound there is no history for Toblerone. Whilst in kennels M. T. staff say she has shown no aggression.
Zeyen
Up-date February 2011 – TV star Zeyen has found his new home. Hope to hear he has settled in well. Monday 17 January Zeyen appeared on STV’s The Hour. He behaved like Mr Cool so enjoying lounging on the studio sofa. He must have thought this is the life a dobermann is supposed to have and behaved like a very relaxed and happy boy. Black and tan, castrated, good-sized young male. Zeyen is a friendly dog, underweight and not doing at all well in a kennel environment he needs a home NOW. He has has already had two unsuitable homes that the SSPCA know about.
Zeyen needs lead training and general socialization with other dogs and would benefit from being walked on a Gencon or similar. Must have an experienced owner who has the time to socialise and train him. Zeyen might benefit from a calm, spayed bitch as a companion and example. He will need a home where someone is around most of the day as he is not used to being left on his own. An excellent dobie and companion if given a fair chance which he certainly has not had to-date. For further details please contact the SSPCA Cadonald which is open Monday – Sunday from 10.00am to 4.00pm. Please ask for Anna or David who can be contacted on (0141) 8821688.
